Well, it was quite a weekend in Carlow at the National Shield Competition ! We acquitted ourselves very well by winning 1st place in the colour section and coming 2nd place overall in the whole competition. 23 clubs took part in the colour section and 21 clubs in the monochrome, so we can be justly proud of our achievement. And that's not all, Brendan Burke was awarded a certificate for his colour print "Man's Best Friend", Roisin Nugent won a Bronze Medal for her monochrome print "Jump for Joy" , Helen McEvoy, also was awarded a Bronze Medal for the colour print of her mother " Peeping" through the curtains and last but not least on the Saturday, John Lowes was bestowed with the distinction L.I.P.F. Congratulations to all, and many thanks to those who were involved in coordinating and helping out in getting our entry ready for the competition. |
